SysFera, a software innovator that simplifies management of high performance computing (HPC) environments, will showcase the release of SysFera-DS version 4.0 at the Supercomputing Conference 2013 (SC13) held Nov. 18-21 in Denver, Colo. In addition, CINES (the French Computing Center for Higher Education) and SysFera will host a joint presentation to explain how users of SysFera-DS enjoy simplified application management and improved access to their visualization clusters.

SysFera-DS 4.0, which abstracts HPC infrastructure for easier management and remote application usage, will be on display in the SysFera Booth #2417 during SC13. SysFera-DS federates and manages hybrid HPC environments from clusters to clouds and includes a web interface to run and visualize applications (batch or graphical), manage distributed big data, and monitor resource usage. This latest version boasts an improved remote-visualization module and extended support for cloud computing as well as detailed statistics and reporting tools that manage billing to customers and business units.

“The complexity of HPC resources continues to increase and end users, project managers, and IT administrators are struggling to keep up,” said David Loureiro, founder and CEO of SysFera. “Our tools have proven to make a difference in the fast-growing HPC market and specifically with large European companies. We look forward to extending this improved efficiency into North America, starting with our meetings at the Supercomputing Conference.”

SysFera’s appearance at SC13 marks the company’s commitment to delivering innovative software solutions that simplify the cloud. SysFera works with large companies, computing centers, research laboratories and universities to maximize their use of hybrid HPC resources, improve monitoring and billing processes, and make internal applications more visible. SysFera-DS makes HPC easy, enabling IT managers to have better control and users without advanced computing skills to better understand HPC resources and applications.

SysFera and CINES presentation at Exhibitor Forum:
Olivier Rouchon, CINES’s head of the HPC department, and Marie Granier, SysFera’s sales manager, will host a customer feedback session during the SC13 Exhibitor's Forum to discuss the positive impact of the SysFera-DS solution.

The presentation will describe the process that CINES used in deploying SysFera-DS, a web-based portal that can be used to offer remote interaction with and visualization of 3D applications, collaborative sessions, in-advance resource booking, and regular HPC job-submission (including on the visualization resources).

Session details:
Title: Web-Based Remote Interaction with and Visualization of 3D Applications
Session: Effective Application of HPC I
Date: Wednesday, Nov. 20
Time: 11:15 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Room: 503/504

French HPC Tour
In addition, show attendees can participate in the second annual “French Tour” on the SC13 exhibit floor. Following last year’s success, France’s leading HPC companies (Bull, CEA, CC-IN2P3, CAPS Enterprise, Inria, and SysFera) invite attendees to stop by each of their booths for details on the driving HPC forces in France and enter to win a prize.

SC13, held Nov. 18-21 in Denver, Colo., is the 25th annual Supercomputing Conference, and serves the entire high-performance computing community, including program managers, vendors, and users from government, private industry and academia. The international event spotlights the most advanced scientific and technical applications in the world through demonstrations, presentations, exhibits, technical papers, and tutorials. This premier international conference includes a globally attended technical program, workshops, tutorials, a world-class exhibit area, demonstrations, and opportunities for hands-on learning.

About SysFera
SysFera is a leader in innovative software that helps large companies and computing centers to manage hybrid HPC environments and visualize remote applications via a web interface. Originating from Inria and founded in 2010, its mission is to make it easier for large companies and computing centers to use, exploit and administrate heterogeneous and shared HPC resources (clouds and clusters). It allows them to improve their competitiveness thanks to a major focus on ease of use for end users, project managers and IT administrators. SysFera keeps innovating—the company takes part in various research projects, national, and international, and also has established partnerships with research laboratories in France.
