Michigan Lawyers Weekly Names Douglas Levy Associate Editor

Farmington Hills, MI, September 20, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Michigan Lawyers Weekly— the premier weekly publication for the legal profession in the state of Michigan— has named Douglas Levy associate editor. In this role, he is responsible for writing news and feature articles for the publication, as well as editing and finalizing pages for print.

Additional responsibilities for Levy include compiling and editing news items for “What’s Up at the Capitol,” “Newsmakers,” “Briefly Speaking,” and “Calendar & Events.”

Before joining Michigan Lawyers Weekly, Levy served in a variety of roles for The Oakland Press. His responsibilities included entertainment editor, food editor, copy editor, production coordinator, graphic artist and wire editor, amongst other responsibilities for the publication. Levy also served in editor positions for The Journal Star in Peoria, Ill., Sun Publications in Naperville, Ill., The Beacon-News in Aurora, Ill. and The South End, newspaper for Wayne State University, in Detroit, Mich.

For his work with The Oakland Press, the Society of Professional Journalists Metropolitan Detroit Chapter honored Levy with the Best Front Page Design award in 2007 for the Oct. 15, 2006 issue.

Levy received his graduate degree from Wayne State University in journalism and his undergraduate degree from Oakland University, Farmington Hills, Mich. in liberal arts.

Levy currently resides in Farmington Hills, Mich. with his wife and daughter.
