Long Beach, CA, November 20, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Signal Hill, like the rest of the nation, has a growing concern for the health of our children. Childhood obesity tripled in the past 30 years and lawmakers are struggling with ways to make healthier food and exercise more accessible to children.

Lisa Mausia, the new owner/coach of Kaia FIT Long Beach, believes that women are great leaders in their household and in their community. Building a healthier community of women in Signal Hill is the way to build a healthier community of children.

Signal Hill women have struggled with the monotonous, and largely ineffective, traditional exercise options – like plodding along on a treadmill or motivating themselves just to burn calories – now have a new, fun and fast-paced program that turns exercise into an exciting challenge.

Kaia FIT started offering women-specific fitness courses in Signal Hill on July 22nd. The group classes meet partly indoors and partly outdoors to enjoy Signal Hill’s many beautiful parks and trails using a series of diverse exercises. Kaia focuses on functional training, using mostly body weight and movement to get your body to function like it did when you were a kid.

“No day is the same. No minute is the same,” said Mausia. “Your body doesn’t know what it is going to do next.”

The unexpected shift to new exercise throughout the hour-long program keeps the participant’s mind engaged and works muscle groups throughout the entire body; building muscle, burning calories, without burning out. Mausia calls it “muscle confusion” and it leads to spectacular results – toned muscles and slimmed down figures. In one six week program, Kaia FIT says the average participant will lose between 10 and 12 pounds of fat and drop one to two sizes.

The group dynamics of the class also make each session challenging and enjoyable at the same time. “A huge part of Kaia FIT’s success has to do with the fact that women love to get together. We encourage each other every step of the way,” said Mausia.

Kaia FIT offers six week BRIKs (boot camps) where fitness and nutritional goals are closely tracked. BRIKs are building blocks that help clients reach their fitness goals and are followed by 10 week maintenance CORE Sessions where a routine of healthy food and exercise helps to create good habits that last a lifetime.

Kaia FIT Long Beach offers a free class to all women of different levels of fitness eager to have fun while sweating. They are ready to answer any questions about women’s health and fitness. Pre-registration encouraged.

Beginning on Jan 6th, Kaia FIT will be holding its first six week BRIK of the year at their new location 1901 Obispo Avenue Signal Hill, CA 90755. The first six week boot camp is $269 with a $50 bonus for anyone who signs up a friend. To pre-register for the first Kaia BRIK of the year, email longbeach@kaiafit.com or call (562)270-KAIA.
