Thieme Announces the Affiliation of the European Federation of Societies of Microsurgery with "Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery"

New York, NY, November 05, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The European Federation of Societies of Microsurgery (EFSM) is now also affiliated with Thieme’s "Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery" (JRM), as the medical and scientific publisher recently revealed. EFSM represents a total of eleven European microsurgery societies and focuses on promoting education in microsurgery through courses and meetings as well as exchange programmes for microsurgeons in training.

Published nine times per annum the "Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery" is already associated with several microsurgical societies. The addition of EFSM to the journal’s affiliations conveys further recognition of the journal’s international significance. "As Editor-in-Chief of the 'Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery' I am especially pleased to welcome the EFSM as an additional affiliation’,"said Dr. Bernard T. Lee, MD, MBA, Editor-in-Chief of "Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery." He continues "Our discipline requires a lot of collaboration across varying fields and we are a small but highly heterogenous group of specialists. Communication is so vital and creates the need for a common platform for us microsurgeons to discuss and further develop our field. JRM will thus reach out to yet another important community of reconstructive surgeons, and provide a high-value forum for the publication of the EFSM’s research."

Professor Alexandru Georgescu, MD, PhD, EFSM General Secretary, adds, "The European Federation of Societies of Microsurgery welcomes the affiliation with 'Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery.' This partnership ensures the publication and dissemination of our organization’s content in this highly relevant journal thereby enhancing the exchange of knowledge of the scope, practice and application and of microsurgical techniques."

JRM, available in print and online, is a peer-reviewed, indexed journal publishing original research and topical reviews containing clinical information of use to the practicing micro-surgeon. In addition, special sections discuss new technologies, innovations, materials and significant problem cases.
