SPI Study Abroad Announces Participation in the 2013 American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages Annual Convention

Top provider of high school language immersion programs participates in leading foreign language conference.

Austin, TX, November 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- SPI Study Abroad is proud to announce its participation in the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) 2013 Annual Convention and Expo.

ACTFL is an internationally-renowned organization dedicated to the expansion of foreign language teaching and language immersion at all levels. According to their website’s Mission Statement, ACTFL is focused on “providing vision, leadership and support for quality teaching and learning of languages.”

Each year, ACTFL holds an annual convention and expo that features over 600 educational sessions that cover many diverse aspects of foreign language teaching. This year’s convention took place in Orlando, FL; its theme was New Space, New Realities: Learning Any Time, Any Place.

SPI Study Abroad was proud to announce its participation in this year’s convention, which proved to be an invigorating and enriching experience for those in the field. SPI’s Admissions Advisor, John Foster, said of the event, “It was great to collaborate with fellow foreign language advocates on new strategies and ideas for the future.”

SPI is well-known for its study abroad programs, which place heavy importance on language immersion in order to gain a true, in-depth knowledge of the chosen language of study. Students live with native speakers, take language courses focused on improving oral proficiency, and participate in cultural activities that encourage them to practice their speaking skills.
