Thieme Announces First Issue of the "International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology"

New York, NY, October 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The open access publishing program at Thieme continues to flourish, as the group announces a new agreement to take over publication of the "International Archives of Otorhinolaryngology" (IAO). Already in its 17th year of publication, this is one of the world’s oldest open access journals. The title appears four times a year and like other open access titles from Thieme, it is available to read for free via Thieme E-Journals.

Announcing the publication of the first issue with Thieme, the President of Thieme Publishers, Brian Scanlan said, “I’m delighted to see the start-up of another open access title at Thieme, especially one which has such a long history within otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. This title complements our wider ENT program, so we anticipate a high level of interest in this new content.”

The publication of the first issue of IAO with Thieme also coincides with International Open Access Week. Dr. Daniel Schiff, Senior Vice President and Journals Publisher at Thieme Publishers commented, “International Open Access Week is an increasingly important annual event in the calendars of all STM publishers. Thieme is committed to providing authors with a range of publication options so they can meet the requirements of their institutions and funding organizations. It is great that we can now offer our authors worldwide an open access outlet in otolaryngology.”

IAO is a peer-reviewed, indexed journal publishing original research and topical reviews containing clinical information of use to specialists working in all fields related to otorhinolaryngology. In addition, special sections discuss new technologies, innovations, materials and significant problem cases.
