Grandview, MO, December 06, 2013 --(PR.com
)-- This past Wednesday, firefighters from the Garden Grove Fire Department filled their fire trucks with toys from the US Toy Store to be donated to children in need during the holidays.
Every year the Southern California Firefighters and ABC7 team up to sponsor the Spark of Love Toy Drive. The purpose of the toy drive is to collect toys and funds to purchase toys for children in need during the holiday season. Anaheim’s Disneyland Resort donated $25,000 to the Orange County Fire Chiefs Association, and those funds were split between nine agencies. The Garden Grove Fire Department was given $2,850 to spend on toys for the children.
At 2:00 p.m., the firefighters showed up to the US Toy Store, located at 12372 Garden Grove Boulevard in Garden Grove, California. They were free to walk the aisles and use the donated money to purchase toys for the children. US Toy was the obvious choice for where to purchase the toys, as they are part of the city’s “Buy in Garden Grove” (BiGG) program.
The Spark of Love Toy Drive has been aiding children in Southern California for over two decades. Over the years, they have provided more than 7.5 million toys for families during the holiday season. US Toy is honored to be able to be a part of this annual tradition.
