Author Stephen E. Dew changed careers in 2009 and started teaching ESL Academic writing to undergraduates for university entrance. Now, he taps that experience writing a series of English writing books for International students. The book series is entitled “Academic Writing Skills” and written from the perspective of an ESL learner in their own country which is different to most ESL learning books.
His latest releases, "English Writing Exercises for International Students - An English Grammar Workbook for ESL Essay Writing," and "English Writing Exercises for International Students - An English Grammar Essay Writing workbook for ESL Students" supports his two previous books with an essay writing process and a multiple choice, interactive, question and answer workbook. He designed and tested the books in a classroom environment with his ESL students.
Stephen draws from his experiences teaching academic writing in a practical environment. “Academic essay writing is an essential skill for universities, colleges, and other tertiary educational institutions. English writing skills form a part of the assessment requirements of many courses at university, college, or even high school, so it is extremely important you can do all these kinds of exercises to become a competent English essay writer for university,” the author said. “The exercises develop areas required for fluent and confident English essay writing skills.”
The series includes book 1, Paragraph Essentials, and book 2, Essay Essentials, with the English writing process. The interactive workbook covers English Grammar points such as sentence structure, subject verb agreement, punctuation, and many more exercises to develop English essay writing skills. After 33 years in the Telecommunications sector, Stephen E. Dew resigned and traveled SE Asia. He settle in Cambodia, where he obtained TESOL qualifications and a Graduate Diploma in Enterprise Applied Management.
