McKim & Creed Names New Energy Leader

Raleigh, NC, January 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- McKim & Creed, Inc., a Raleigh, North Carolina-based engineering, surveying and planning firm with offices throughout the South, has announced that Matthew Daves, PE, LEED AP has been promoted to business unit leader in charge of developing sustainable, cost-effective clean energy solutions for commercial, healthcare, institutional and educational facilities.

Daves joined McKim & Creed in January 2013 as part of the company’s acquisition of United Engineering Group. Prior to his promotion, he was a senior project manager in charge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection services.

“Matt has an excellent understanding of the business of consulting engineering and project success, and has demonstrated the knowledge and skills that make him a natural for operations management of our energy-related endeavors,” said Herbert P. McKim, Jr., PE, PLS, president and chief operations officer of McKim & Creed.

Most recently, Daves led a project team that was awarded a first place technology award from Region IV (North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia) of ASHRAE, a professional building technology society. The team provided mechanical and electrical improvements to the U.S. Postal Service Processing and Distribution Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina, which resulted in energy savings, improved indoor air quality and cooling capacity, simplified operations and maintenance, and reduced environmental impacts.

Daves is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He is a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies of North Carolina, where he serves as the chair of the building and infrastructure committee.
