Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force 28th Annual Benefit Kerry Stoner Award Recipient Announced

Giant Eagle, Inc. to receive Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force's 28th Annual benefit Kerry Stoner Award.

Pittsburgh, PA, February 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force announced that it will present Giant Eagle, Inc. with the Kerry Stoner Award at its 28th Annual Benefit at the Twentieth Century Club on Thursday, March 27th.

The Kerry Stoner Award is presented annually to honor those who have, through a longtime dedication to Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force’s Annual Benefit, shown commitment to Kerry Stoner's legacy and vision. Stoner, a tireless HIV/AIDS activist who died of complications from AIDS in 1993, was a founder and the first executive director of PATF.

Giant Eagle, Inc. has been a sponsor of PATF’s Annual Benefit since 1995 as well as being a long-time supporter of the PATF Food Pantry Program, providing nutritious food and toiletries for PATF clients and their families. PATF gives out more than 6,000 bags of groceries a year to those facing financial hardships due to their struggle with HIV/AIDS.

Founded in 1931, Giant Eagle, Inc. has grown to be the number one supermarket retailer in the region with 229 supermarkets and 190 fuel and convenience stores throughout western Pennsylvania, north central Ohio, northern West Virginia and Maryland.

This year's event at the Twentieth Century Club in Oakland features the extraordinarily talented Johnny Rodgers, an internationally-celebrated singer-songwriter, pianist, Broadway star, and recording artist, along with his supporting band. All guests will enjoy a cocktail party, performance, and a dessert reception at the historic Twentieth Century Club. Sponsors and VIP ticket buyers will enjoy a private VIP reception before the main event, beginning at 6 p.m.

Tickets for the benefit are $125 for general admission and tickets for the VIP reception including the benefit are $275. Tickets can be purchased at www.patf.org or by calling 412-345-0593.

PATF is dedicated to supporting and empowering all individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and to be relentless in preventing the spread of infection.
