SWACHA Sponsors Its First "Art of Saving' Contest in Louisiana with the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Shreveport

SWACHA to Award a Total of $700 as Part of Its America Saves Week Education Efforts.

Shreveport, LA, February 05, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Dallas-based SWACHA, one of the largest not-for-profit regional electronic payment associations in the country, and The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club of Shreveport announced today the launch of the “Art of Saving” art contest. This marks the first year SWACHA’s art contest will be held in Louisiana.

Winners will be announced during America Saves Week, February 24 – March 1, 2014 and will receive a total of $700. America Saves Week is a nationwide campaign held annually to encourage Americans to adopt healthy savings behaviors.

Children in the Shreveport-Bossier City area that attend The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club can enter the contest by creating artwork which illustrates what saving money means to them. The contest is divided into two age groups: ages 8 years to 10 years and ages 11 years to 13 years. All entries must be submitted to the director of The Salvation Army Boys and & Girls Club of Shreveport by February 7, 2014.

SWACHA will award $200 to the first place winners in each age category, second place winners will win $100, and third place winners will each win $50. Winners will be announced during America Saves Week.
