Learn2Serve Helps Fund Neurofibromatosis Research by Donating to CTF's Cupid's Undie Run

Learn2Serve, a premier leader in providing training solutions to food safety workers and their managers, will be donating 10 percent from the sales of its courses once again to Cupid’s Undie Run.

Austin, TX, February 07, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Cupid’s Undie Run, a charitable cause held yearly to raise money for the Children’s Tumor Foundation, an organization dedicated to exploring new treatment options for patients with Neurofibromatosis (NF).

The National Library of Medicine defines neurofibromatosis as a type of genetic disorder characterized by the growth of tumors along different types of nerves and organs in the body. NF can also disrupt the development of skin and bone tissues. The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke estimates that 100,000 Americans suffer from the disorder.

Cupid’s Undie Run Austin Race Director, Krista Fredrick has a mild form of NF and is the brains behind bringing Cupid’s Undie Run to Austin, Texas. According to 360training.com’s news release about the fundraising project last year, Fredrick had initially requested Learn2Serve’s mother company, 360training.com to sponsor the event. She helped organized the first Austin Cupid’s Undie Run and founded the Keep Calm and Cupid On team for it. The first run was a success with over 450 participants and $30,000 donations. The initiative has also received over $13,000 in other donations and sponsorships.

Cupid’s Undie Run is a mile run where participants strip down to their bedroom-best. It’s held on Valentine’s Day weekend and aims to raise awareness on NF. The cause aims to raise double the amount of the donations last year, which totaled at $1.3 million.

Learn2Serve will run the Cupid’s Undie Run campaign until February 15, 2014. For the cause, the food safety training provider will donate 10 percent of its sales in which a discount coupon relating to the cause (CURE4NF) was used. 360training.com also honors the same discount code for its other brands.

The Children’s Tumor Foundation was established in 2006 to help bring new developments to NF research. Since its inception, the Foundation has so far raised over $10 million for NF research programs dedicated to developing new and effective treatment programs for those afflicted with the disease. The organization has committed to raise $30 million in research for the five year period from 2012 to 2016.
