The next 15 years are predicted to see mass hybridisation between humans and robots. As robotics are becoming increasingly more intelligent, their ability to speak, understand natural language and see will allow their interaction with humans to become more prevalent. How will their increased presence in society affect our workplaces, industry and homes? Nick Hawes, Senior Lecturer in Intelligent Robotics at the University of Birmingham, developing long-running autonomous mobile robots for security and care applications;
Simon Blackmore, Director of the National Centre for Precision Farming and a world-leader in the sector, focused on developing intelligent machines and processes to make crop production more efficient and sustainable;
Graham Southorn, Editor of BBC Focus, the monthly popular science and technology magazine, whose latest edition features ‘Robots Like Us: the new generation of faster, smarter and more emotional machines’.
The AI & Robotics Innovation Forum brings together world-leading researchers and practitioners in robotics to discuss and explore key challenges in the integration of robots into society and industry.
The aim is to:
