Marianne Henry Saylor Elected as Lansdowne Borough Council President

Willig, Williams & Davidson workers’ compensation attorney to serve two-year term on local board.

Philadelphia, PA, February 14, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Marianne Henry Saylor, a Philadelphia workers’ compensation attorney at the law firm of Willig, Williams & Davidson, has been elected to serve a two-year term as president of the Lansdowne Borough Council, in Delaware County, Pa.

Saylor first was elected as a borough council member in November 2011. As president, she will lead the council in directing the business activities of the borough. In addition to directing the day-to-day operations of Lansdowne, the seven-member council appoints a borough solicitor and engineer and members of the town’s administrative boards and commissions, including the Board of Health and the Planning Commission.

“Willig, Williams & Davidson attorneys are very active in their communities, and I am delighted to continue that tradition,” said Saylor, who is a partner at the labor and employment law firm. “As an attorney who fights for the rights of injured workers, I believe in giving a voice to those who may go unheard, and I want to bring that mindset to my role in local government. I look forward to giving back, and I thank the voters of Lansdowne for the opportunity to continue to improve our hometown.”

Saylor is one of only 38 specialists within Philadelphia certified in the practice of workers’ compensation law by the Pennsylvania Bar Association Workers’ Compensation Law Section. On behalf of her clients, Saylor routinely appears before administrative law judges, the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board and the Commonwealth and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania. She is a frequent presenter of workers’ compensation seminars to labor organizations and community groups, advising them of the rights and responsibilities of injured workers.

Saylor previously served as a board member and secretary of the Southwest Community Development Corporation, a private nonprofit organization that provides assistance to residents and promotes local economic development. She earned her juris doctor from City University of New York School of Law and her bachelors’ degree from Bennington College and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New York.
