Columbus, OH, February 20, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- The Spot Athletics - one of Ohio’s premiere athletic training facilities- is excited to offer a new sand-based class for improving speed, agility, and core strength in Hilliard, Ohio. Sand training is a great way for athletes of all sports to greatly improve their speed and agility. The difficult nature of sand training has a greater carryover to ground based sports than traditional agility training. Sand training is also safer than dry land training- allowing for more effective and intense workouts. The dynamic nature of sand strengthens athletes lower bodies to make them more resistant to injury in their respective sports.
The Spot Athletics owner, J.L. Holdsworth, states that “We are really excited to be the only place to offer this type of training in Central Ohio. Using sand, instead of traditional surfaces, creates less impact on the joints, makes the athlete more explosive and strengthens ankles and knees to better reduce the chance of injury.”
Classes take place at the Ultimate Beach Center, 3700 Parkway Lane, Hilliard, right off the Cemetery road exit. Classes are for athletes ages 8-18 and are grouped based on age. For more information and to sign up for a free trial class, visit www.thespotathletics.com/sand.
