Construction Complete on All American Assisted Living at Hanson
The Douglas Company has completed work on New England facility.
Boston, MA, February 26, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Douglas Company, a general contracting firm with offices in Holland, Ohio, and Orlando, Florida has finished the construction of the All American Assisted Living facility in Hanson, Massachusetts. The new assisted living and memory care facility is the contractor’s first project completed in Massachusetts.
This New England senior living project included 48,000 square feet of new construction at a contract value of over $6.9 million. The facility offers 48 semi-private resident rooms and boasts a variety of amenities such as a salon, bistro, arts and crafts room, country kitchen, library, parlor and media room. Other unique aspects of the build included the installation of a Sonos System (wireless music system) in the media room and utilizing 100% LED lighting throughout the facility.
Construction began in December 2012 and the project team faced two blizzards with snow accumulation of nearly three feet, but was still able to turn over the facility to the owner in just under one year. The building in Hanson is a prototype for four other facilities set to be built in the Greater Boston area. The Douglas Company is scheduled to begin the next project this coming spring.
The facility is owned by SHI – II Hanson LLC and architecture and design was provided by Steve Humphreys, EGA Architects.
