Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas Announces Donation from Charlotte Succession

Youth Nonprofit Receives Donation to Help Local Economically Disadvantaged Students from Community Development Organization

Charlotte, NC, February 28, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas (JACC), the Carolinas’ premier organization providing financial literacy, workforce readiness and entrepreneurship education to the state’s youth, is pleased to announce a donation of $10,626 from Charlotte Succession, a nonprofit organization that facilitates personal and community development through leadership and service in the Charlotte area. The donation, made with proceeds from the organization’s annual Succession Golf Tournament, will support the Junior Achievement JA BizTown® program for economically disadvantaged students in Mecklenburg County.

Over the past three years, Charlotte Succession has donated a total of $45,597 to JA BizTown – enough to enable more than 1,100 economically disadvantaged students to participate in the program. These students will engage in daily business lessons and visits to a fully interactive simulated town facility that helps them learn how to apply their education to real world situations.

In October, Charlotte Succession hosted its Succession Golf Tournament on behalf of the JACC for the third year in a row. Charlotte Succession strives to give back to the local community through the opportunities and skills it provides to its members, as well as JACC program participants.

“We are proud of and grateful for our partnership with Junior Achievement,” said Douglas LaBrosse, 2013 president of Charlotte Succession. “The valuable lessons JA instills in our community’s youth mirror our mission of personal and community development through leadership and service.
