NEFAB Packaging, Inc., Dallas Division is Awarded ISO 9001:2008 Management System Certification and ISO 140001:2004 Environmental Management System Certification

Dallas, TX, March 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- NEFAB, a global leader in complete packaging solutions, is proud to announce that its Dallas manufacturing division has recently achieved both ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certification.

ISO 9001:2008 is a process-based management system certification; certification recognizes organizations that can link business objectives with operating effectiveness. ISO 9001:2008 certification means the organization has demonstrated its commitment to enhancing customer satisfaction through the application of a quality management system, with processes for continual improvement and the assurance of consistency in product and service delivery.

According to Brian Bulatao, President - Nefab Americas: “We are proud that our newest US manufacturing division is now certified to both ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001: 2004 Management Systems. These ISO certifications show our customers that we are committed to providing a quality product and service, with the added benefit of helping to reduce negative impacts on the environment.”

Achieving ISO 9001:2008 certification means that Nefab Packaging Inc., Dallas division has demonstrated effective implementation of documentation and records management, top management’s commitment to their customers, establishment of clear policy, good planning and implementation, good resource management, efficient process control, measurement and analysis.

ISO 14001:2004 is also process-based and sets out the criteria for an environmental management system. The ISO established the Environmental Management Systems to encourage companies to evaluate all areas where its activities have an environmental impact so that they can then be measured and improved. It also assures compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.

Nefab has developed a system of compliance under the new ISO 14001:2004 certification and is focusing on reducing waste in chosen target areas of steel, lumber, and landfill. Since starting the initiative, Nefab has been decreasing landfill waste and the amount of steel waste that is sent for recycling. They are also working on optimizing lumber to reduce offcuts, as well as reusing the offcuts that are created. The reduced costs of waste removal affect Nefab’s customers by helping to reduce the overall cost of their products.

“In an industry (industrial transport packaging) where certification is uncommon, we pride ourselves on being both ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2004 certified,” says Jeb Baum, General Manager of the Dallas manufacturing division. “This makes us better organized to meet our customer’s needs through lean, environmentally responsible, and structured processes; all of which lead to more efficient systems.”
