Boost Fitness to Host “Pedal To End Cancer”

Health club hopes to exceed $6,200 raised last year.

Northboro, MA, March 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Boost Fitness, the area’s premier independent fitness center, today announced that Boost will host the American Cancer Society’s 10th annual “Pedal to End Cancer” event from 8 to 11 a.m., Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Boost clubs in Northboro, 79 West Main St., and Worcester, 40 Millbrook St.

“All members and their guests are invited and encouraged to participate,” said Boost Fitness owner Mark Federico. “Last year, Boost members and their friends raised more than $6,200 for the fight against cancer. We hope to do even better this year.”

Pedal to End Cancer is an indoor cycling fundraising event that benefits the American Cancer Society’s programs of cancer research, education, advocacy and services. Participants seek sponsors and can pedal for the entire three hours or share cycling time with team members. All funds raised will go to the American Cancer Society.

“The ‘Pedal to End Cancer’ ride is an opportunity to have fun, exercise and help create a world with less cancer and more birthdays,” Federico said.

The registration fee is $25 to participate and is payable when you register online at pedaltoendcancer.org. Those wishing to participate should also contact Boost Fitness to reserve their stationary bicycle. Because the number of bikes available is limited, individuals spinning for the full three hours are encouraged to raise at least $300, while those participating as part of a team are encouraged to raise at least $100.

Since its inception as Spin for Hope in 2005, the New England Pedal to End Cancer has raised more than $2.2 million dollars. The program began with six clubs participating and last year the more than 60 participating clubs raised nearly $400,000.
