Paragon Bank’s Simona Pleasant Receives 2014 Women In Business Award From Triangle Business Journal

Vice President Controller to be Honored At Apr. 17 Luncheon

Raleigh, NC, March 19, 2014 --( Paragon Bank has announced that its Vice President Controller, Simona Pleasant, has been named a winner of Triangle Business Journal’s 2014 Women in Business Awards. Each year, the publication profiles women in the Triangle who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and entrepreneurial qualities, as well as a commitment to community service. Pleasant, along with 25 other honorees, will be recognized during a luncheon at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 17 at the Raleigh Marriott City Center in downtown Raleigh.

Pleasant was selected by Triangle Business Journal judges from more than 100 nominees due to her depth of experience and breadth of commitment to both Paragon Bank and the greater Triangle community. With more than 14 years of financial experience, she works to serve Paragon Bank’s growing client base and ensures the seamless operation of all banking initiatives. Pleasant has played a fundamental support role in growing Paragon Bank from $400 million to over $1 billion in assets.

She holds a master’s degree in accounting from N.C. State University, as well as a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Romania’s Universitatea Tehnică din Cluj-Napoca. A native of Romania, Pleasant has embraced her heritage and used it to become a leader in the Triangle’s growing Romanian community. She resides in Raleigh with her husband and granddaughter.
