Netball Recognized at 10th Global Happiness Awards in Washington, D.C.

Global Happiness Day started back in Australia on 05/05/05 and is celebrating its 10th year on April 1, 2014. The Happiness Bug has spread and is now celebrated in over 200 countries and islands. Australian Sonya Ottaway, Director of KPMG and President of Netball America will receive the Happy Charity Action Award for her philanthropic work providing opportunities to youth across the USA and inspiring them to be empowered and becoming leaders in their community.

Washington, DC, April 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Two Aussie Ladies to be honored on Global Happiness Day in Washington, DC along with Americas royalty, First Lady Michelle Obama and Entertainer Madonna. The Global Happiness Awards this year comes at a very poignant time, while the President is dealing with global crisis, the First Lady is spreading global happiness and is therefore being honored with a Happiness Award. Let Happiness reign every time.

Help spread the happiness bug by offering kind actions to people in need of health, hope and happiness in the local community. British Born Australian, Dr. Shelley Sykes founder of the Happy Charity both in Australia and the USA, mother of a special needs child, Shelley lends a hand to those in need of Hope and Happiness and helps them find a way to stay Syked Up.

Jennifer Hill, A Beverly Hills beauty, who has overcome cancer and severe disabilities, will receive the Global Happiness Day Hope Award.

Sonya Ottaway, Director of KPMG and President of Netball America will receive the Happy Charity Action Award.

Former honorees include His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Dr Edward de Bono, Patch Adams and a plethora of celebrities who help to spread the happiness bug to the masses.
