Lucideon Announces Douglas Macmillan as Their Nominated Charity for 2014

Lucideon, the international provider of materials development, testing and assurance, and formerly known as Ceram, is delighted to announce that Douglas Macmillan Hospice is their nominated charity for 2014.

Stoke-on-Trent, United Kingdom, April 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Established forty years ago, the charity provides a day hospice, hospice at home service, education centre and full range of clinical support services for people suffering from incurable cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in North Staffordshire.

Tony Kinsella, CEO, commented: “We have been supporting local charities for many years and are now proud to announce that we will nominate a charity each year for our fundraising activities. Douglas Macmillan Hospice, our chosen charity for this year, provides an invaluable caring facility for those with terminal or life-limiting illnesses in the local area. We will do our best to raise as much as we can.”

On Sunday 06 April 2014, ‘Team Lucideon’ will be running the Sheffield Half Marathon in support of the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. The experienced and inexperienced runners, Tim Arrowsmith, Sisi Liu, Melissa O’Brien and Laura Smith have been training for the thirteen mile marathon since December.

Tim Arrowsmith, Director of Sales, said: “As a team we saw the marathon as a good opportunity to raise money for a local charity whilst getting fit. We chose the Sheffield Half Marathon as many of our clients are located in that region – a great chance to market our new company name. Unfortunately, we overlooked the challenging hilly terrain of the route!”
