Dartmouth Total Fitness Crowns Fitness Challenge Winners from Dartmouth, Fall River and Fairhaven

Dartmouth Total Fitness announces winners and results from their Free 10-week Winter Fitness Challenge.

Dartmouth, MA, April 09, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Total Fitness Clubs (TFC) announced today the winners and results from their Free Winter Fitness Challenge held at their Dartmouth, MA location Dartmouth Total Fitness (DTF). The 10-week Challenge ran from January 13 – March 21 with 75 participants who lost a combined 690 pounds and the average weight loss for individuals was 9.2 pounds.

The Challenge was available for free to the Dartmouth Community for ages 18+ and all fitness levels. The overall goal was to help participants kick start, and reach, their New Year’s health & fitness goals, such as weight loss, and to develop a habit of lifelong daily activity.

Successful results for participants were attributed to the combination of accountability, support, motivation and healthy competition.

Participants were required to weigh-in every Monday as missed weigh-ins resulted in two pound penalties.
Personal Trainer Stacia Abdow provided weekly weight loss tips to support a healthy life style. Topics included hydration, portion control, planning meals, and getting into a fitness routine.
Weekly Group Training sessions with a Personal Trainer.
Participants were encouraged to try out the wide variety of Group Exercise Classes DTF offers, which the participants were encouraged to utilize such as Spinning, Group Power, Pilates, and Boot Camps.

At the commencement of the Challenge, participants were asked what they enjoyed most about the Fitness Challenge responses included:

“Meeting new people and sharing the journey”

A crash diet cannot support you through 10 weeks. There are always events, holidays, and life to contend with. We hope to instill some long term healthy habits in our Challengers.”

Challenge Winners:

1st Place - Ryan Perry from South Dartmouth, MA
68 lbs 23.9% weight loss and won a 1-Year Gym Membership and bragging rights

2nd Place - Barry Demello from Fairhaven, MA
34 lbs 14.7% weight loss and won a 3-Month Gym Membership

3rd Place - Colby Klein from Fall River, MA
22.2 Lbs 13.6 % weight loss and won a 1-Month Gym Membership
