Mild to Wild Rafting & Jeep Trail Tours Celebrates 20 Years of Whitewater Rafting as the 2014 Season Kicks Off

Long-time whitewater rafting and adventure center outfitter gears up for an excellent Colorado summer.

Durango, CO, April 10, 2014 --(PR.com)-- April marks the launch of the Colorado whitewater rafting season for Mild to Wild Rafting & Jeep Trail Tours, a tourism adventure center with trips in Arizona, Utah and Colorado.

“With over a foot of new snow last week, the snowpack at Molas Lake, Red Mountain Pass and Mineral Creek is at 105% median,” said Alex Mickel, owner at Mild to Wild Rafting & Jeep Trail Tours. “An above average snowpack promises conditions for a strong and long whitewater season in Southwest Colorado.”

Eager to hit the river, Mild to Wild has added a crew of specialty trips and deals to the calendar.

First, Mild to Wild celebrates 20 years by celebrating the achievements of others, offering a free Lower Animas trip to all 2014 graduates. Whether completing elementary, high school or university, bring in your diploma for a free half-day Lower Animas trip, when booking two other seats on the trip. Or if another river suits the graduate, use the equivalent Lower Animas trip cost toward any other trip total, when booking two other seats. Congratulations to all of this year’s graduates.

Then, double the fun with The Piedra Double Box, mastering Southwest Colorado’s Upper Piedra and Lower Piedra rivers in one day of whitewater excitement. Flowing through a beautiful protected wilderness, from Class II to IV rapids, the Piedra is just west of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. Trip available on May 17, 24, 31 or any dates with a group of eight or more, with proper water levels.

This summer’s most extreme river adventure, The Ultra Upper Animas, combines two intense Class IV and V whitewater trips, the Silverton and Needleton sections of the Upper Animas River, into one extreme whitewater marathon. In order to participate, guests must be very physically fit and pass an on-river orientation the night before the trip. This trip is scheduled for May 24 and June 7 and can be built for any group of eight or more, with proper water levels.

Kicking off on the Piedra and Animas Rivers, Mild to Wild’s new Whitewater Rafts & Brewery Crafts trip blends a lively day of whitewater rafting with a tasty tour of Durango’s best craft breweries. Trips include Upper Piedra, May 24, June 7; Lower Piedra, May 25, June 13; Upper Animas, June 21, July 12; Lower Animas, May 31, July 10 and trips can be built for any group of six or more, with proper water levels.
