TECH Outreach Holds 4th AGM

During TECH Outreach's 4th AGM, the President unveiled the Strategic Plan that was developed during the Strategic Planning meeting in January 2014.

Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, May 01, 2014 --(PR.com)-- On Saturday, 19 April 2014, TECH Outreach held its 2013 AGM at its premises. The AGM commenced at 10am and concluded at 12:30pm under the Chairmanship of President, Dr. Selvamalar Ayadurai.

TECH Outreach had a membership of 26 people who were involved its various projects. In 2013, 5 Project Teams were formed, namely, Project Malaysian WINs, Project Sri Lanka, Project Nepal, WIN@College and Fund Raising.

In order to undertake these Projects, TECH collaborated with institutions of higher learning, a State Government and the Prime Minister’s Department. TECH has commissioned a public university to conduct research on the impact of its interventions among the beneficiaries in Malaysia.

Over the years, TECH has perfected its model which is officially termed TECH Outreach Model (TOM) and it has been successfully replicated in Nepal. TOM is built on the successful Grameen Bank platform.

Among TECH’s achievements in 2013 were the provision of micro-loans and business coaching to 16 WINs (Women in Need) in Malaysia, 45 WINs in Nepal, 100 WINs in Sri Lanka and 86 children in Sri Lanka under the Sponsor a Child Programme.

TECH raised USD100,000 in 2013 for the various Projects and had a surplus of USD26,600. More fund raising activities are planned for 2014 and the funds will be utilised for Savings & Credit financing for WINs in Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Nepal, Sponsor a Child Programme, Rice Mill set-up in Sri Lanka and Water Supply Scheme.

The President concluded the AGM with a reiteration of the Strategic Plan 2014-2018 developed during the Strategic Planning Meeting in January 2014. It consists of an audacious goal to exponentially increase the number of women TECH helps, expansion of the number of countries TECH works in as well boosting engagement with all 19 stakeholders of TECH.

In order to achieve success in the 2014 plans, TECH is encouraging anyone from any part of the globe to become involved in its Projects by enrolling as a member, donating financial resources and/or contributing their expertise to empower women.
