Storied Sports Memorabilia Company Holds First-Ever Auction

On Sunday, May 11, the family-run company, Piedmont Sport will make a major leap forward for the benefit of their customers with its first online auction.

Philadelphia, PA, May 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- For more than 25 years, Piedmont Sport has been buying and selling certified sports memorabilia, igniting the passions of collectors worldwide. On Sunday, May 11, the family-run company will make a major leap forward for the benefit of their customers with its first online auction.

The auction will begin at 1 p.m. Eastern Time. Collectors have the option of paying via Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, check or money order. Items range from a signed baseball from Derek Jeter, to a JSA 1969 New York Jets partial team-signed autograph book from the team’s championship year.

“I started this company because I share that deep passion for many of the collectibles that my customers have spent their lives tracking,” said Piedmont Sport owner, Frank Prisco. “This auction is going to be a new milestone in that adventure for me and my family. We will now be able to make some of our most prized vintage photographs, letters and equipment more accessible to the public through an auction. I’m excited for this new venture. It’s a real opportunity for die-hard sports fans to seek out memorabilia signed by their favorite players. Any time I can connect a collector to a prized possession is a happy day for me.”

Piedmont Sport recently teamed up with Steiner Sport as a wholesale distributor. Major League Baseball has authenticated many of the Steiner items, which Prisco says will set minds at ease over alleged third party authentication services.
