Two Local Churches Sponsoring Joint May 4 Evening Prayer Service, Collection for Victims of Storms in North Mississippi

Westminster Presbyterian and Trinity United Methodist churches to sponsor 6:30 p.m. joint prayer service and goods collections this Sunday for those affected by recent tornadoes in North Mississippi.

Gulfport, MS, May 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Trinity United Methodist Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church will sponsor a joint evening prayer service on Sunday for the victims of the recent storms that swept through the area. The service will be held in Westminster’s sanctuary, located at 5005 Lawson Avenue in Gulfport, at 6:30 p.m.

Service attendees are invited to bring goods that will be sent to Louisville, Miss., which was hard-hit by tornadoes on Tuesday, on Monday. Volunteer relief coordinators on the ground in Louisville have asked for the following supplies: disinfectant products, such as Clorox wipes, Lysol, and bleach; all kinds of toiletries; baby care products; bedding, such as pillows and sheets; and rubber gloves. A voluntary monetary offering will also be received during the prayer service for the American Red Cross’s storm relief efforts.

Westminster and Trinity, which are located side by side on Lawson Avenue, sit behind Bayou View Elementary School.
