Columbia, SC, May 10, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Skip To My Lupus, Inc. spokesperson, Alison Sheppard, today announced the nonprofit organization will host “Life With Lupus” Testimonial Banquet in honor of National Lupus Awareness Month and World Lupus Day which is May 10th. The event will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at 6pm in Ballroom I of the NCO Club on Fort Jackson Army base. Proceeds will be used to fund future awareness-raising events, provide educational literature, and facilitate support groups for people affected by Lupus and other autoimmune disorders.
Skip To My Lupus, Inc. and Lupus CSC have a goal to help improve the quality of life for people affected by lupus and their families, here in South Carolina. We are confident that you will enjoy the evening of dinner and poignant personal testimonies of life while living with lupus. You, an audience of special guests, community representatives, local officials, and media, will be able to hear these stories from those in our local community living with this life-threatening disease. The event meet and greet begins at 6:00pm. Our program starts at 7:00pm and will be held at the distinguished Fort Jackson NCO Club.
The event will feature keynote speaker, Frances Ashe-Goines, MS, Deputy Director of Research in the Office on Women’s Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, National Lupus Spokesperson, Wendy Rodgers, and Comedian Sassedrick Washington, headliner for Steve Harvey’s Final Standup Tour.
