MCP Middle & High School Expands with New Scotts Valley Location: Serving Students in Grades 6-12 from Santa Cruz and Santa Clara County

MCP Middle & High School, Santa Cruz's county's independent non-profit school serving students who learn differently with a college preparatory program, today announced it will move its program to Scotts Valley, Calif., for the Fall 2014 schoolyear.

Snata Cruz, CA, May 17, 2014 --(PR.com)-- MCP Middle & High School (MCP) the region’s only non-profit, independent small school that personalizes college readiness for students who learn differently, today announced that their program will be accessible to a wider audience with their move to a larger location in Scotts Valley.

“We have found a permanent home at 125 Bethany Drive in Scotts Valley: a great location where we can grow and thrive with our unique and talented student population from both sides of the hill. The new space gives us room to fully implement the teaching we know works best for students who learn differently,” said Jay M. Dunlap, Executive Director of MCP Middle & High School.

Conveniently located in Scotts Valley, this expansion will serve Santa Cruz county families, and be a more accessible location for Santa Clara county families with students who are highly capable and have learning-differences. “MCP serves students who aren’t finding their path in more traditional schools,” said Bill DeMar, co-owner and president of The Meritage Real Estate Development Group of Watsonville, Calif. “They provide a unique and needed service in our community.”

MCP’s middle and high school programs individualize academics for each student with a Personalized Learning Plan, and social and emotional support for students who learn differently, and those who are double-exceptional and gifted. Class size varies from 4-8 students, and staff to student ratio is 3:1. Daily skills classes support learning outside the academic realm, with daily academic homework support available as well.
