Local Seniors Using It, Not Losing It

Over 200 local senior citizens are planning to attend upcoming two day lecture series in Delray Beach, FL on Oct 30 & 31, 2007. This continuing education program, sponsored by Senior Summer School, includes lectures on topics such as: Jew's vs Jew's in the Promised Land; Current Events & U.S. Relations in the Middle East; Jew's in the Civil War; World War II; Those Who Dared to be Different; Kosher Nostra (Jewish Gangsters); Hollywood Moguls; and Looking Good & Feeling Great at Any Age.

Delray Beach, FL, October 13, 2007 --(PR.com)-- “Use it or Lose it” is a well-known phrase, especially among seniors in and around Delray Beach, FL. Local Seniors know the importance of keeping their minds healthy. It’s no surprise that higher levels of education are linked to better health and a longer lifespan, and local retirees are taking no chances when it come to their well-being.

Over 200 local senior citizens are planning to “use it” and attend “Adult Edventures IX” at the end of October. Adult Edventures is a series of continuing education seminars for senior citizens throughout South Florida. These seminars, hosted by Senior Summer School, offer two days of stimulating lectures, discussions and entertainment. Nine experienced and engaging lecturers, professors and entertainers from throughout the state will teach participants. Familiar faces such as Elaine Rudner, a Judaic studies instructor and social worker, and Eli Kavon, an adjunct lecturer for Broward Community College, will be joined by new lecturers Gwen Herb, a wellness coach, lecturer and author, and Marsha Sonnenblick, PhD, medical psychologist, author and civil war expert.

Delray-area seniors will learn about a variety of subjects. Upcoming topics include: Kosher Nostra (Jewish Gangsters): But They were Good to Their Mothers; An Empire of Their Own: Hollywood Moguls; Jew’s In the Promised Land; Current Events, & U.S. Relations in the Middle East; World War II: For the Boys; Those Who Dared to be Different; and Looking Good & Feeling Great at Any Age. Participants will enjoy live music during the catered kosher meals each day as well as opportunities to meet and engage in discussions with other participants.

“Adult Edventures IX”, sponsored by Senior Summer School www.seniorsummerschool.com, is scheduled for October 30 & 31, 2007 at Temple Emeth (5780 W. Atlantic Ave) in Delray Beach. Seminars are from 9:00 AM – 4:00 daily and cost $79 per person.
