The site, UBuildNet, is a growing social media networking and marketing platform designed specifically for construction businesses and the sub-contractors, collaborators, and consumers who do business with them. The consumer portal makes it possible for individuals to connect with construction and related businesses to meet their home or business built environment needs.
Launched in August 2013, UBuildNet initially focused on its business-to-business interface, by which businesses sign up at no cost, establish a free company profile, and set up searchable criteria that will help others find, connect, communicate, and contract with them. Today, just nine months later, construction and related businesses from 48 states in the U.S. and several countries around the globe have established a presence on UBuildNet. The new consumer portal has been added to support the needs of consumers and facilitate business-to-consumer networking. The Universal Building Network was founded by John R.
