FISD Women’s Group Luncheons Returns to London & New York

FISD Women’s Group to Feature former Telecom CEO and Thomson Reuters Chief Content Officer

Washington, DC, May 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Financial Information Services Division (FISD) of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), announces the return of the FISD Women’s Group Luncheon. The FISD Women's Group offers women in the market data industry the opportunity to network, discuss challenges and share advice.

SIIA has announced that the next FISD Women’s Group Luncheon will be held June 10, 2014 in London. The guest speaker is Danuta Gray, former Chairman of Telefonica O2 and Award Winning Business Woman. Danuta Gray recently stood down as Chairman of Telefonica O2 in Ireland having been the CEO from 2001-2010 with over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and mobile phone sector. Gray serves as a non-executive director on the board of Aer Lingus plc and Paddy Power and was previously on the board of Irish Life and Permanent plc and Business in the Community. Gray is former Chairman and current board member of the children’s charity, the Barretstown Gang Camp. Gray was also instrumental in selecting Irish Autism Action (IAA) as O2’s charity of choice from 2005 – 2010. Gray has been recognized as a business leader in a variety of awards including Irish Business Woman of the Year 2008, Ireland's Most Trusted Leader by the Great Places to Work Institute in 2010, Business and Finance Business Person of the Year 2010 and was awarded an Honorary Fellow of the National University of Ireland.

A subsequent Women’s Group Luncheon will be held June 17, 2014 in New York. The guest speaker is Debra Walton, Chief Content Officer for Thomson Reuters (Financial & Risk). In addition to her day-to-day responsibilities as Global Head of Content, Analytics and Valuation Services, Walton is a member of Financial & Risk’s Executive Leadership team and the executive sponsor of the Thomson Reuters Women’s Network. Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Walton held senior executive roles at Cantor Fitzgerald, Nucleus Financial and Dow Jones Telerate. Walton is an active board member of the Women’s Refugee Commission – a non-profit organization serving refugee women and children globally. Walton also serves as an advisory board member to Springboard. She is a recipient of a number of industry awards, including the prestigious New York Women’s Agenda Galaxy award and the Women’s Venture Funds Highest Leaf Award.

Topics that will be covered for both London and New York meetings include:

• The impact women have on business performance and performance in financial services sector
• Leadership attributes women have that differentiate them from men and contribute to their business impact
• The progression of women to executive ranks across industries and in financial services
• Obstacles that hinder women’s progression and what enables them to succeed in their careers
