Exceptional Children's Foundation Announces Inspirational High School Graduation

Culver City, CA, May 30, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Exceptional Children’s Foundation (ECF) announces its annual high school graduation ceremony on Friday, May 30. The event will take place from 10:30am to 12:30pm in the Tom Arnold Auditorium at the Kayne Eras School at 5350 Machado Road in Culver City.

Many of the students who attend ECF’s Kayne Eras School, a nonpublic school, have been unable to succeed in traditional school settings and have been told over and over that, due to their special needs, they are “unteachable.”

"However, with small class sizes, individualized attention, and the support of highly trained special education teachers, ECF is committed to reaching and teaching every student who enters our doors. The annual graduation ceremony is a tribute to the hard work achieved by both students and faculty,” said Scott Bowling, President and CEO, of Exceptional Children’s Foundation.

This year, 15 ECF students will earn their high school diplomas and prepare for the next chapter in their lives: attending two-year or four-year colleges, vocational training, employment in the community, or an adult program of the Exceptional Children’s Foundation.

Inspiration abounds at this graduation ceremony. Here’s one success story: At age 17 with a learning disability, Clyde enrolled at ECF’s Kayne Eras School with a history of academic struggles and unacceptable behaviors. Surrounded by teachers who worked with him one-on-one, Clyde felt valued and respected by his teachers in a way he never had before. He became a model student and served as a peer mentor. Clyde plans to become an electrician and eventually an entrepreneur.
