ManpowerGroup Commits $200,000 and Employee Volunteer Hours to Support Junior Achievement’s Work-Readiness and Financial Literacy Youth Programs Through 2016

Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas Receives ManpowerGroup Grant and Local Volunteer Support for JA Finance Park and JA BizTown Programs.

Charlotte, NC, June 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- ManpowerGroup (NYSE: MAN), the world leader in innovative workforce solutions, has committed $200,000 and countless employee volunteer hours to support Junior Achievement’s (JA) work-readiness and financial literacy youth programs through 2016 in selected JA areas across the United States. As part of this commitment, Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas received a grant and volunteer support from local ManpowerGroup employees to support JA BizTown® and JA Finance Park® programs.

Through JA BizTown and JA Finance Park, Junior Achievement offers life-changing programs teaching business and financial skills to elementary and middle school students. After receiving in-class instruction focusing on age-appropriate budgeting and personal finance skills, students visit JA Finance Park or JA BizTown, where they run a miniature city and make decisions based on fictional life scenarios with jobs and families.

“ManpowerGroup and Junior Achievement are strongly aligned in the commitment to make a difference in the lives of young people, helping them to become work-ready by developing fundamental skills necessary in today’s job market,” said Jonas Prising, ManpowerGroup president and former Junior Achievement USA chairman. “What’s more, ManpowerGroup employees across the U.S. enthusiastically volunteer their time and expertise to participate in these wonderful JA programs.”

Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas currently reaches 33,842 K-12 students annually, including 9,222 at JA BizTown and JA Finance Park.

“JA is grateful for the support from ManpowerGroup in the Charlotte Metro area,” said president of Junior Achievement of Central Carolinas, Sarah Cherne.
