Breakout Charity The Chatman Women's Foundation Hosts PowHer Play Happy Hour

Houston, TX, June 19, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Mix and Mingle networking event is hosted by PowHer Play 2014 on Thursday, June 26, 2014 from 6pm-9pm at Char Bar. PowHer Play is a corresponding event that takes place the following day, Friday, June 27th, at The Junior League of Houston. The purpose of Mix and Mingle is to encourage interaction and collaboration between professionals who support women empowerment.

Women empowerment is a cause that seeks to enable and encourage all women to reach their fullest potential. This includes obtaining high levels of education, leadership and skills training, gender equality, and ensuring proper health and safety. At Mix and Mingle, men and women will have the opportunity to connect and network on a common ground. The goal is to strengthen the ties between fellow professionals and grow together. This event encourages attendance of men who share the desire to empower women in the work force.

PowHer Play, the host of Mix and Mingle, is a corresponding event intended to increase women’s power or influence through motivating events, true accountability and professional development. At PowHer Play women will have the opportunity to listen to speakers and professionals discuss relevant and enticing topics.

Mix and Mingle was created in the vision of Shantera Chatman, Founder of The Chatman Women’s Foundation and Creator of PowHer Play. Often criticized for being "too smart," Shantera refuses to "dummy down" her message of power and self worth. Shantera seeks to provide financial assistance to women in the Houston community looking to create a better life for themselves.

Tickets for Mix and Mingle are sold online for $10 or $15 at the door. Each ticket sold is an investment in other women in the community. All proceeds will go to scholarships for women in the Houston community trying to better themselves through education.
