Local artist Caron Bowman is unveiling a patriotic spirit pole in downtown West Palm Beach’s 4th on Flagler event. The downtown West Palm Beach art scene is undergoing a renaissance. The City is quickly becoming an enclave for artistic and creative people.

West Palm Beach, FL, July 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Caron Bowman is honored to have been commissioned to create a public art piece for the City of West Palm Beach’s 4th on Flagler event. Thousands of people descend on downtown West Palm Beach each year to celebrate Patriotism in Paradise at 4th on Flagler.

This year’s theme, “Together We CREATE America” embraces the flourishing arts, culture and entertainment vibe in Downtown West Palm Beach. The 3 day event this year will include an art component called” United State of the Arts Spirit Poles. Sprit pole were originally introduced during the New Orleans Jazzfest and were used to identify the location of large groups of people.

This year’s theme “Together We CREATE America” was particularly inspiring for Caron, since one of her current series of paintings “American Melting pot” incorporates quotidian images of patriotism. Just like the artist Jasper John, Caron has been inspired by the American Flag and patriotic imagery. Moreover, this particular series “American Melting Pot” was recently profiled by the American Latino Museum. The spirit pole she created for 4th on Flagler is about bringing people together and showing the beauty of American diversity in the City of West Palm Beach. Caron said, “American Melting pot is a perfect fit with the theme of this years 4th on Flagler”. She utilized re-purposed materials from the Resource Depot to create the piece.

Currently, the spirit poles are on display at West Palm Beach City Hall, 401 Clematis St, West Palm Beach, FL 33401

On July 4th, the poles will be on displayed in 4th on Flagler Post Park. The unveiling event will be held July 4th 2014 at 4th on Flagler Post Park at 5:30pm .

Caron’s art work is a combination of Surrealism, Pop Art, Soflo Superflat, and Graffiti. Moreover, her artwork is about intensity of color, curved lines, and daring patterns unified into one language. She said of her work:

“My personal quest is to create art with a spirit, moreover, transforming two dimensional materials into spiritual substance. My goal is to continue to use the vocabulary of color in order to speak visually in different languages. Creating a relationship between the un-conscious and conscious mind via abstraction and symbolism. I want to provide the viewer with just enough information to stimulate the process of interpretation, yet that same stimulation resists conclusions.”
