SACAC Invites Applications for Admission in Creative Photography

New Delhi, India, July 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts & Communication, New Delhi invites applications for admission in diploma course in Photography. The classes are scheduled to commence in August this year.

The admissions will be made on the basis of an aptitude test followed by an interview. The diploma course on offer has a precise number of 20 seats. Anyone whose age is 20 years or above and has completed at least 12 years of formal education (10+2) may apply for the programme. We welcome candidates from all educational backgrounds (including certificate programmes from private institutions). The Diploma in Photography, an intensive one year programme, is designed not only to introduce students to the technical and creative needs of creative photography but to also aid students in going far beyond the technicalities into concerns of aesthetics as well as ruminations over the nature of photography as a form of art.

The curriculum focuses on two basic things for the student: evolving the ability to recognize and appreciate human situations and aspirations; and understand “the camera” and its technicalities so that the camera becomes an extension of the photographer's inner eye. The one year diploma course in Photography includes imparting knowledge of post-shooting editing and curatorial practices as well so that students go out ready to take up freelance assignments on their own. On successful completion of the course a student is ready to take on independent assignments, join or freelance for NGOs, magazines and newspapers, news bureaus and agencies, commercial or advertising agencies.

Started in 2003, the Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts and Communication (SACAC) is an autonomous, not-for-profit institution for creative learning in arts and communication. SACAC offer one year diploma programmes in Photography, Audio Engineering and Music Production and Creative Documentary, in addition to courses in Advertising and Public Relations (IMC) and Digital Marketing Communication. SACAC are fortunate to be positioned in the heart of South Delhi on a sprawling green campus and have an environment that is conducive for academic learning as well as artistic and intellectual stimulation.
