SACAC Invites Admission Applications in Creative Documentary (Filmmaking)

New Delhi, India, July 27, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Sri Aurobindo Centre for Arts & Communication, New Delhi invites applications for admission in the post graduate diploma course in Creative Documentary (Filmmaking). The classes are scheduled to commence in November this year.

Following a holistic method of assessment, the admission process for this course is based not only on a candidate’s academic record, test scores and intelligence, but also his or her level of awareness, commitment and willingness to learn. Graduates in any discipline (including those awaiting their final year result)/equivalent qualifications/ working professionals may apply for this course. There is no upper age limit. The Creative Documentary Filmmaking course stimulates students to engage thoroughly and with full enjoyment of each part of the practice of filmmaking. Camera, sound, editing, ideation, research, script and direction—all aspects of filmmaking will be dealt with in detail through practical exercises and theoretical engagement. While the course will provide the students with a strong grounding in film craft, it seeks to break down the walls between creative and technical, theory and practice, form and content.

The course follows a trimester system, the first two semesters being four months and the last one three months (comprising primarily of work around the diploma film project). The eleven month’ duration of this Creative Documentary (filmmaking course) prepares its students to emerge as creative and confident individuals who have an excellent command of various aspects of filmmaking. As part of the curriculum, the students attend film screenings, discussions, conversations and talks which feature directors, writers, editors, cinematographers, sound recordists, sound designers, other artists and scholars. On successful completion of the course, many students go onto an apprentice with senior filmmakers, at least early in their careers and later embark into independent practice, or jobs. Freelance professionals can pursue direction, camerawork, sound, editing and allied fields of practice.
