Tonyehn Verkitus, GiveGab’s Executive Director of Community Citizenship, Appointed to the Alliance for Nonprofit Management Board of Directors

Verkitus brings twelve years of experience in nonprofit management to the Alliance.

Ithaca, NY, July 30, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Alliance of Nonprofit Management has appointed Tonyehn Verkitus, to its Board of Directors. Verkitus is the Executive Director of Community Citizenship at GiveGab, the volunteering network. Additional Alliance Board appointments include Jenni Dones, BEST/United Way in Flint, MI; Cordina Hill, CityLife/Urbana, Boston and Rick Moyers, Myer Foundation, DC.

As the premier community of capacity builders for nonprofits, the Alliance for Nonprofit Management is a catalyst to ignite and accelerate the impact of individuals and organizations helping nonprofits achieve positive social change. The Alliance provides programming that enables members to meet the highest standards of capacity building and professional assistance; advocacy for the nonprofit sector; and research, development, and dissemination of cutting-edge theory and practices.

Verkitus is an alumnus of the College of William and Mary. She spent four years as a volunteer manager for the American Cancer Society with a focus on building new event partnerships with area universities and community involvement. For five years she was the Advertising/Promotions Director for a weekly magazine and restaurant reviewer. She is also on the Boards of Arts and Culture for Lackawanna County, Africa Community Exchange and the Greenhouse Project.

The newest trustees were identified and approved by the board in July after detailed and extensive review and vetting process lead by the governance committee which focus on the candidates’ service to the organization, professional experience, and a passion for capacity building.
