Bucelo, Jr., has joined the firm’s Coral Gables office as Senior Partner. Bucelo will be the Statewide Chair of the expanding Real Estate and Banking practices for the firm. Bucelo served as Special Counsel to the Code Enforcement Board of the City of Miami for over 20 years. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees of Miami-Dade College for the past 14 years and currently serves as Vice-Chairman.

The Banking practice at Roig Lawyers advises clients on a variety of commercial lending and financing transactions. Armando was the first Cuban-American ever to ring the closing bell of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE). He was appointed by former President George H.W. Bush as the first and only Hispanic as well as the first and only Floridian ever selected to the Board of Directors of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac).
Armando was named Cuban-American Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee in 1995. He was also appointed at the recommendation of the White House as a member of the Board of Directors of the National CORE. Subsequently, he was appointed by President George W. Bush as Chairman of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC) and continued to serve under President Barack Obama. Armando’s appointment to SIPC was one of the highest appointments ever made to a Cuban American by any administration.
Armando has received numerous awards and honors over the past 30 years, including being named as one of the “100 Most Influential Hispanics” in the country in multiple issues of Hispanic Business magazine.
He earned his Associates in Science Degree from Miami Dade College and his Juris Doctor and Bachelor Degrees from the University of Miami.
