Greensboro, NC, August 12, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- Internationally renowned speaker and diversity strategist, Lenora Billings-Harris was recently inducted as the President and Executive Council Chair of the Global Speakers Federation, which is a global framework for independent speaking organizations to collectively serve the interests of their individual members while advancing the professional speaking community worldwide.
Growth and enhancement of the speaking profession is best served by continually enhancing the talent, ethics, and business acumen of individual practitioners. The Federation is a mechanism of affiliation through which independent associations for professional speakers around the world can serve these interests by providing members with greater access to professional education materials and access to one another’s educational programs.
The GSF currently comprises 11 independent speaker associations representing 13 nations and more than 8000 individuals from over 20 countries.
Billings-Harris says, "It is a privilege and humbling responsibility to stand on the shoulders of the founders and all the leaders that followed with the responsibility of honoring their legacy while moving their vision forward for this organization. When we combine all the associations of the Global Speakers Federation and their individual members, every year we are touching the lives of nearly 1 million people around the globe. Some would say that is not much in the grand scheme of things, but as anthropologist Margaret Mead said, 'Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has'."
