RE/MAX Center Plans 4th Annual Michelle Radke Benefit on Aug. 24 in Grayslake to Aid Lurie Children’s Hospital

Chicago, IL, August 14, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The 4th Annual Michelle Radke Benefit in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) and Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago will be held Aug. 24 at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 1060 E. Peterson Road, Grayslake, Ill., starting at 12:30 p.m. The event is being organized by brokers Donna and Jennifer Radke along with their office, RE/MAX Center of Grayslake, and other local businesses.

The main musical attraction will be Bad Medicine, a Bon Jovi tribute band. Also sharing the stage will be Pulsebeat, a band consisting of four Chicago-area teenagers, including 12-year-old Matthew Jazwinski, a cardiac patient at Lurie Children’s. Jazwinski was born with multiple heart defects. Now an accomplished bassist, he and his band mates frequently entertain at fundraising events for the hospital.

This year’s benefit will offer fun for all ages. Adults will enjoy music from several bands, a climbing wall, food and drink. For the younger set there will be pony rides, face painting and a bouncy house.

Tickets to the event are $15 for those 20 and over, and $10 for those 13 to 19. Children will be admitted free. Tickets can be purchased online at www.4thAnnualMichelleRadkeBenefit.eventbrite.com or at the door.

The benefit is a highly personal effort by Donna and her daughter, Jennifer, to honor the memory of Michelle, who was Donna’s daughter and Jennifer’s sister.

Michelle, whose untimely death at 29 resulted from complications of diabetes, was first diagnosed with that disease when she was 2 years old. She was treated for many years at Milwaukee Children’s Hospital, which is part of CMNH.

“We learned at a personal level what a vital role CMNH plays in supporting families with sick or injured children. This is our way of lending a hand so that other families receive assistance during those difficult times,” said Donna Radke.

RE/MAX is the exclusive real estate sponsor of CMNH, an organization that provides funds to more than 170 children’s hospitals in the United States and Canada. All funds raised by RE/MAX in the Chicago area benefit Lurie Children’s. RE/MAX associates contributed $160,000 to the hospital last year.
