Riders Raise $87,000 for PBTF in Massachusetts, Missouri

Asheville, NC, August 20, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Ride for Kids motorcyclists in Massachusetts and Missouri raised more than $87,400 for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation on Aug. 17.

More than 350 riders attended the events in Framingham, Mass., and St. Louis, Mo., to honor our Stars, local children with brain tumors: Ashleigh, Brian, Courtney, Daniel, Isabelle, James, Josh, Ryan and Zachary.

“Where there is research, there is hope,” said pediatric neuro-oncologist Dr. Karen Gauvain of St. Louis Children’s Hospital. “Due to the research funded by the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation we have the capability to take each individual tumor and break down the individual cells to allow targeted gene therapy and more effective treatment.”

Making life better for Ride for Kids Stars is the reason motorcyclists across the country ride for the PBTF, which funds medical research and family support programs to help eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors.

The events are still collecting donations online at www.rideforkids.org.
