Nonprofit Celebrates 16th Anniversary

Tampa Bay nonprofit that has helped over 9,000 women since inception is celebrating its 16th anniversary with a luncheon and fashion show.

Tampa, FL, August 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- With only two employees and many volunteers, Dress for Success Tampa Bay has assisted more than 9,000 women since opening in 1998.

This nonprofit that helps disadvantaged women return to the workplace and become economically independent will celebrate its 16th Anniversary with a luncheon and fashion show on Thursday, Oct. 16, 11:30 a.m. at The Rusty Pelican in Tampa.

Although known primarily for providing interview attire for women, Dress for Success Tampa Bay also provides career search and job skills assistance. This nonprofit’s Career Center helps with resume writing, mock interviews, and software training.

“All of the proceeds raised at this event will provide programs and services to these women in our Tampa Bay community. We rely on grants, donations, and fundraising events to continue offering our services locally. We helped more than 1,800 women in 2013,” said Executive Director Katie McGill.

Fall fashions from Kit's Well-Dressed in Hyde Park will be featured during the event.

Sponsorships are available and event tickets are $50 and can be purchased at dressforsuccesstampabay16.eventbrite.com. General donations can be made via PayPal at http://www.dressforsuccess.org/tampabay

In 2013, Dress for Success Tampa Bay was named the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Nonprofit of the Year Judges Choice Award Winner.
