Registration Open for Erie Art Museum Fall Studio Art Classes

Erie, PA, August 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Studio art classes are forming now for the Erie Art Museum’s Fall Semester of studio art classes and workshops. Class registrations made by September 2 are eligible for an Early Bird Discount on each class. The Museum offers a wide range of classes for all ages and skill levels, from absolute beginners to more seasoned artists; professional artists teach all classes.

A class highlight is “Sketchbook Studio,” a beginners drawing class covering basic techniques in a studio environment where students work more independently to create still lifes, figure drawings, and utilize the art from current exhibits while exploring a variety of media such as conte crayon and pencil. “Oriental Painting” teaches the basics of this art form, focusing on four paragons: the orchid, the bamboo, the plum, and the chrysanthemum. Photography, painting, photoshop basics, bookmaking and more are offered this fall. The Museum has a full schedule of classes just for art-loving kids, too.

One-day workshops are also available. Make original dinnerware at “Upcycling with Ceramic Decals,” offered both Sunday, September 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. and Tuesday, October 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Museum offers discounts to Museum Members on all classes and workshops. A complete description of available classes is online at www.erieartmuseum.org. For more information, or to register for a class or workshop call (814) 459-5477.
