About Affashionado
Shana Thomas, founder & owner of Affashionado, a luxury handbag and accessory label, has one goal in mind in her approach to fashion; to connect women in the developing world with sustainable employment opportunities. Since graduating from college in 2008, it became increasingly difficult to find a job the fashion industry. In 2011, Shana watched a video on YouTube about a major retailer that developed a trade program to help local artisans of Haiti stay employed after the devastation of the earthquake in 2010. Shana was inspired to start a fashion label and create a Social Mission initiative enabling skilled artisans to live a sustainable life and rise above poverty.
