Keynote Speaker, Special Guest Announced for Inaugural Mid-Atlantic Green Hospitality Conference Sept. 15 & 16 at Dover Downs Hotel & Casino

Dover, DE, September 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Dover Downs Hotel & Casino will host the first Mid-Atlantic Green Hospitality Conference on September 15 and 16, a first-of-its-kind opportunity to unite food service and lodging facilities, tourism agencies, “eco” product suppliers and consultants around the common cause of maintaining and promoting environmentally friendly lodging and food services practices.

The keynote speaker, Ralph Meima, PhD., of Meima Communications, will address the audience during a farm to table luncheon in the Rollins Center on Tuesday, Sept. 16, beginning at noon. Meima currently works with associates and clients in the US and Europe as a business analyst, sales engineer, communications advisor, and entrepreneur in renewable energy, clean tech, and software development, serving Green Lantern Group as Director of Development, and Green River Data Analysis as product development associate. He is also the founding director of the Marlboro MBA in Managing for Sustainability, 2006-2012.

Following the address, Ed Sutor, president and CEO of Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, will present the conference Innovation Award to the corporation or individual who most represents “Leadership, Energy Legislation, Strong Public Policies & Innovative Financing.”

Appearing during the luncheon will be 2012 Season Hell’s Kitchen finalist, Chef Barbie Marshall, who will oversee lunch and reception preparations as well as participate in a meet and greet on Monday and Tuesday. Since appearing on Hell’s Kitchen, Chef Marshall has continued her work as Chef of SOOP Catering and began doing celebrity chef appearances and demonstrations. Chef Marshall’s research and work on sustainable foods led her to accept a position as a farmer at Green Meadow Farm. Her three years farming combined with her culinary work led her to be called The Farming Chef as she often utilizes ingredients she has grown from the soil to the plate.
