Little Rock, AR, September 16, 2014 --(PR.com
)-- The Grand Comics Database (GCD) reached 1,000,000 issues on August 25, 2014 when Mexican indexer Ruben Cortes added the second issue of John Constantine Hellblazer from publisher Editorial Televisa.
The milestone comes as the GCD celebrates its 20th Anniversary. Since 1994, over 1,000 volunteers from around the world have contributed information about comics from 53 countries to create the largest comics database on the web. Completely free to use and with each entry reviewed by one of 31 volunteer editors, the GCD has become the authoritative resource used by fans, comic shops, scholars, and eBay.
The Grand Comics Database is a nonprofit 501(c) project of international volunteers with the goal of documenting and indexing all printed comics for the free use of scholars, historians, researchers, and fans worldwide. Started in 1994, the GCD has grown to become the largest online repository of indexed comics with over 1,000,000 issues from over 50 countries.
