The Indie Chicks, Inc. Reach Fundraising Goal to Keep Magazine on Shelves

Self Empowerment Magazine for Women Remains on Shelves with Aid of Public Donations, Celebrity Support

New York, NY, September 18, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Indie Chicks, Inc., a brand dedicated to helping women achieve their best self, today announced its IndieGogo Campaign reached its goal, exceeding $20,000 in public donations. Funds raised will go directly to the printing of its fall 2014 issue.

The Campaign started Aug. 6, 2014 and closed Sept. 10, 2014, raising exactly $20,330. Owners of The Indie Chicks marched throughout NYC displaying headlines used in mainstream media pinned on their garments to raise awareness of the IndieGogo Campaign. The headlines were typical negative lines from women’s magazines such as, “Lose 10lbs fast,” and, “472 ways to please your man.”

Keltie Knight of the entertainment news program, “The Insider” will grace the cover of the fall 2014 print issue of Indie Chick Magazine. Knight has been a supporter of The Indie Chicks since discovering the summer issue.

Singer-songwriter Christina Perri is among the supporters of The Indie Chicks, also contributing to the IndieGogo campaign. The fall issue of Indie Chick will contain an inside feature on Perri. Other notable supporters include Kate Bosworth and Tara Reid, who have shown their support via social media.

“We launched our first print issue in January 2014, and the response was incredible. Messages came flooding in about the need for a magazine like this and how our content was able to change readers’ lives,” says President Chrystal Rose.

The Indie Chicks spotlight inspirational women who serve as examples of success and motivation for its readers, and covers a variety of topics including:

“We’re trying to put our body weights against door; trying to create as shift in how women see themselves when they look in the mirror,” says CEO Chiara Mazzucco. “We want to fuel them, strengthen them and rally them, and to help them believe in themselves no matter what life throws their way.”
