)-- Bart Lounge, a creative fusion of art, alcohol and live music is looking to raise approximately $22,500 through its recently launch Indiegogo campaign with plans to open in the Coachella Valley in early 2015.
Bart is the evolution of creator and artist Michael Murphy’s love for art, music, and the occasional alcoholic beverage. Bart will be a modern, sleek style bar, and art gallery serving the Coachella Valley with live music, entertainment, and art exhibits. Although the exact location has not been announced, Bart has signed a Letter of Intent and is in final lease execution on a suitable venue in the Coachella Valley.
“I can’t imagine a more suitable location than the Coachella Valley,” said Michael Murphy, “a community where emerging and upcoming artists, bands and singers all come together and show off their talents!"
Bart will feature artwork from renowned artists such as Tim Burton, Dr. Seuss, Alex Pardee, Dan May, Mark Ryden, and more. Select areas within Bart will be designated to feature art from local and upcoming artists in all medias. In addition to the art gallery, a stage and small dance floor have been included in the venue to give local musicians a place to play and demonstrate their talents to Bart customers.
"I really wanted a place where I could bring the snooty art gallery world into a more laid back, casual setting,” said Michael Murphy, “You know, a place where you could grab a beer and check out some art without some jerk security guard breathing down your neck."
Bart has already raised most of the $75,000 needed to open, aside from the $22,500 needed from the Indiegogo Campaign. As part of Bart’s Indiegogo crowd funding campaign, contributors can select from seven (7) “perks” such as the “Don’t Have A Cow Perk” for $10.00 and receive a commemorative button design by artist Michael Murphy and a $5 Drink Voucher at Bart, or the $5,000.00 perk entitled “King of Kings Perk” where the contributor will receive an exclusive art show at Bart for two-weeks, an original signed drawing by Michael Murphy, a commemorative T-shirt and a $500 Open Bar Voucher at Bart.
